# Product lifecycle

Access Manager support dates are driven in part by the end of support dates for Microsoft .NET.

## Support statuses

* **Supported** — the current release. Receives new features, enhancements, and security fixes.
* **Supported (maintenance)** — receives security and critical stability fixes only, until its end of support date. Upgrade to the current release to receive new features and enhancements.
* **Not supported** — no longer receives updates or fixes of any kind.

## End of support

When a version reaches its end of support date, it no longer receives updates or security fixes. The software continues to run after this date, but issues found after that date will not be fixed. Upgrade to a supported version before the end of support date. See [Upgrading to Access Manager v3](https://docs.lithnet.io/ams/v3.1/installation/upgrading-from-v2) for upgrade guidance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lithnet.io/ams/v2.1/help-and-support/lifecycle.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
